Week 16 Offensive Player Rankings: Establishing the AFC 2024 Pro Bowl Games Offense roster is another horrifying encounter. But if I may, is this even somewhat logical?
What better Christmas present to give your favorite NFL players than to choose them for this year’s Pro Bowl? Fan voting for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games has begun. In retrospect, it is actually rather ideal.
You still have time to cast your own vote, as fan voting ends on Monday, December 25. Meanwhile, I have made the decision to compile my own roster of offensive players that I believe deserve a spot on the squad. Here are my 21 picks for AFC players that should be in this year’s Pro Bowl Games. The Pro Bowl Games are a week-long event that showcases player talent in special AFC vs. NFC challenges and ends with a flag football game on Sunday, February 4 at 3 p.m. ET at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Next week, I will return to my customary offensive player rankings. This is my list of offensive Pro Bowlers from the AFC, till then. For the NFC’s offensive Pro Bowlers, see this link.
Under coordinator Todd Monken, the Ravens offense and Lamar Jackson have developed. The recently paid quarterback can run the ball 50 times in a game or support the rush attack in carrying out the game plan, depending on the circumstances. With three games left, Jackson leads his club to 11 victories, is leading the Ravens and NFL quarterbacks in rushing yards (741), and is only 21 yards shy of his season high of 3,127 pass yards. Because of his ability to improve the offense in every aspect, he is a strong candidate for MVP and has Baltimore among the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Tagovailoa Tuahas never had a finer appearance. He is the focal point of a potent Dolphins offense that leads the team in total offense, scoring offense, and passing offense. He has also done a fantastic job of distributing the ball to his playmakers. With 3,921 passing yards and a 71.0 completion %, Tagovailoa leads the NFL right now. More significantly, though, he has been healthy enough to help the team win the AFC East (the Dolphins can win the division).
For the first time since 2020) and double-digit victories in Week 16. Despite the Bills’ difficult season and current playoff positioning, Josh Allen has had some of his greatest games in 2023—especially after Joe Brady took over as offensive coordinator in November. Brady has called plays in four games, and Allen’s Bills have averaged almost thirty points each game. According to NFL Research, he has also broken the record for the most games in an NFL season with at least one rush touchdown and one pass touchdown, with ten. There is still opportunity to increase that total.
Raheem Mostert, the second of four Dolphins on this list, is having a somewhat surprising 2023; he leads the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns, which is four more than he had in all previous years combined. Mostert is poised to surpass 1,000 rushing yards in a season for the first time in his nine-year career. This season, he has split the backfield with three different backs (De’Von Achane, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Salvon Ahmed), but he has shown himself to be the most dependable, particularly in the red zone. Hey, it is a player who is not Josh Allen who is driving the Bills’ ground game! James Cook’sHis run of games with 100-plus scrimmage yards was extended to five with 221 scrimmage yards versus Dallas. With 968 run yards, he presently leads the league. This is a result of his strong play over the past two months. If the Bills make it to the postseason at all, Cook’s performance gives them a genuine opportunity to go far. Leading the Ravens’ highly effective running offense in both carries (163) and rushing touchdowns (11) is Gus Edwards. No. 35 is probably going to receive the rock if they are close to the goal line.
Out of all AFC fullbacks, Patrick Ricard has played the most offensive snaps (373). The four-time Pro Bowler has contributed significantly to the Ravens’ rise to the top of the rushing rankings, even though it puts him on course to finish with the fewest in a season since 2020.
With 1,542 receiving yards and 12 touchdown receptions, Tyreek Hill leads the NFL, even despite missing Week 15 due to an ankle injury. His quickness is constantly evident; he leads the league in after-the-catch receiving yards with 601 of his total yards. Hill has frequently discussed his goal of 2,000 yards. nonetheless, in order to do that, he will need to average roughly 153 yards per game over the next three games; nonetheless, he has already exceeded that total five times in 2023. The Cincinnati Bengals have experienced a lot of ups and downs in 2023, but Ja’Marr Chase has been the team’s most reliabl player—at least in my opinion.reliablefollowing five victories in their previous six games. During that period, Michael Pittman Jr. had two of his three 100-yard games for the season. Pittman, who has the second-highest percentage of the team’s receptions this season (32.2%), has improved the pass game with a backup quarterback and created room for his teammates to flourish, setting franchise records in the process.
Unless you consider his popularity, this has not been Travis Kelce’s best season in any manner, shape, or form. Nevertheless, with 924 receiving yards, he is the best tight end in the NFL and is only 76 yards short of 1,000 yards for the eighth straight season. In Year 7, David Njoku is rising to new heights. He got his fifth touchdown of the year in Cleveland’s victory over Chicago, setting a single-season career high with 10 receptions. Since Joe Flacco took over as quarterback, Njoku has caught three touchdown passes in his past two games, which is a record for the most in a two-game span in his career.
After 15 weeks, the Indianapolis Colts have the seventh-best offensive line according to Pro Football Focus. The play of tackles Braden Smith and Bernhard Raimann has been crucial to their success in the trenches. Raimann has guarded the blind sides of Gardner Minshew and Anthony Richardson this season, with a 96.7 percent pass block proficiency over 489 pass-blocking snaps, according to PFF. Despite missing six games due to a knee injury, Smith has performed well while fit, ranking second among tackles in terms of run-blocking grade (86.9) and eighth overall (80.8) according to PFF. On 264 pass-blocking snaps, he has not allowed a sack.Despite his recent struggles, Morgan Moses has mainly been a reliable member of Baltimore’s front line in 2023, paving the way for an attack that is ranked first in rushing yards and seventh in total yards.
Joe Thuney is not the reason why the Kansas City passing attack has not been as potent as it usually is during the Patrick Mahomes era. The three-time Super Bowl champion has the best pass-blocking grade (84.3) among guards through 15 games and has earned an 88.2 pass-blocking mark from PFF during the last four weeks, ranking third among all O-lineman. Greg Van Roten’s outstanding pass protection has made him the Raiders’ best offensive tackle in 2023. This season, he ranks third among guards with a pass-blocking grade of 80.6.The final berth goes to Robert Hunt, who, when healthy, has been a very reliable performer for Miami. Despite missing four games so far this season, he has performed admirably when in the field, giving up only one sack in almost 300 pass-blocking snaps and ranking eighth among guards in terms of run-blocking grade according to PFF.
The season-ending injury to Connor Williams is a major setback for Miami’s interior offensive line, as well as his hopes of playing in the Pro Bowl for the first time in his six-year career. A Pro Bowler in his debut campaign in 2021, Creed Humphrey has performed admirably for the Chiefs once more. Although he has not excelled in any one area, he has been a reliable run and pass blocker and has received an overall PFF grade of 80.5, which ranks seventh among centers this season. Ryan Kelly, the third offensive lineman on our list for the Colts, has allowed zero sacks on 401 pass-blocking snaps, which has helped him register the highest pass-blocking grade (79.2) among centers through 15 weeks.
