Brent Venables, the coach of Oklahoma, provided a brief update on Monday regarding the health of his quarterback and best wide receiver.
The Sooners’ award-winning quarterback, Dillon Gabriel, sustained an injury late in the first half of their 31-24 victory over BYU on Saturday. On a fourth-quarter reception that sealed the victory, Jackson Arnold, Gabriel’s backup quarterback, hit Farooq hard.
OU has not revealed the extent of the head injuries that appear to have occurred to either player.
This week, OU plays host to TCU in the regular-season finale.
