The Bills were hit with more bad news when a second player collapsed and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
There have been far too many terrifying scenarios involving the Buffalo Bills on the field in the previous year.
Taylor Rapp, a safety, was taken off the field in an ambulance on Sunday. Rapp briefly stood up after being involved in a significant hit on Breece Hall, the running back for the New York Jets. Then he squatted and collapsed to the floor. As Bills players surrounded him on the field, he was strapped to a backboard and taken off the field.
Television cameras captured his teammate Damar Hamlin of the Bills observing. Late in the previous season, Hamlin had a cardiac emergency in Cincinnati and was taken off the field in an ambulance.
Tracy Wolfson of CBS said that Rapp was in the locker room and had not been taken to the hospital.
Running back Damien Harris of the Bills was carted off the field in an ambulance earlier this season due to a neck injury.
Rapp was getting into the ambulance, his hands moving. Before coming to the Bills, Rapp, a fifth-year safety, played four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams.
