With the NFL season officially over for the Washington Commanders with Wild Card Weekend set to get underway on Saturday, the storied franchise isn’t wasting any time on addressing the general manager position, as this team wants to turn things around sooner rather than later.
It appears that the Commanders have turned their attention to a team that has shown sustained success with general manager John Lynch leading the way.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Commanders have hired Lynch’s former assistant from the San Francisco 49ers, with the team agreeing to bring in Adam Peters to be its new general manager.
Peters will have a tall task ahead in trying to turn this franchise around after all that has gone on in the nation’s capital over the years, but he’ll definitely have a lot of things going in his favor to help them rebuild, as Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team points out via Twitter.
The next order of business for Peters and company will be bringing in a new head coach, with the team recently parting ways with Ron Rivera.
