Mike McCarthy has revealed his next high-profile addition, spending more than £700 million.

In advance of their Week 18 game against the Washington Commanders, the Dallas Cowboys signed four players to their practice squad on Thursday: wide receiver Racey McMath, offensive tackle La’el Collins, linebacker Damien Wilson, and running back SaRodorick Thompson.

Collins was considered a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by many, however he was not selected because he was connected to a case involving the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend. Collins was just questioned by police and never labeled as a suspect, but the Cowboys were able to sign him as a quality undrafted free agent due to his decline in draft position.

Before being granted permission to look for a trade in the 2022 offseason, Collins played seven seasons and made 71 starts for the Cowboys. He had three years left on his contract when the team terminated him shortly after.

In the team’s week 16 game during his one season with the Cincinnati Bengals, he tore his ACL, necessitating a full offseason of rehabilitation to fully recover. He was placed on the injured reserve list at the beginning of the 2023 season, and in September, the Bengals terminated him.

In his four seasons with the Cowboys, Wilson participated in all 64 games and started 22 of them. The Cowboys selected Wilson in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs following the expiration of his rookie contract, and he started all 29 games during his two seasons there, including a Super Bowl victory in 2019. After that, he played one season with the Carolina Panthers (starting all 17 games) and one with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being cut by the latter this past March.

After being undrafted in the 2023 draft, Thompson, a rookie out of Texas Tech, has been on the practice squads of the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks. After graduating from nearby Carrollton Ranchview High School, Thompson amassed a bulk of 215 pounds and stood 6 feet 0 inches. During his career at Texas Tech, Thompson ran for 2,664 yards and 40 touchdowns.

The New Orleans native McMath was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round of the 2021 draft out of LSU. He played in 14 games and had four receptions for 48 yards. This past August, after training camp, he was waived and signed with Dallas after spending some time on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad.

Dallas has also released wide receiver Tyron Billy-Johnson, offensive guard Adam Pankey, defensive tackle Willington Previlon, and wide receiver Martavis Bryant from the practice squad.
