Shocking news: A crucial player who agreed to sign a five-year deal with the Green Bay Packers is confirmed dead.
The Green Bay Packers were able to maintain a state of prosperity and health for more than 30 years thanks to their high-end football, but now that Aaron Rodgers is in New York and Jordan Love is the starting quarterback, things are starting to change.
A new era brings big questions, and Love is a former first-round pick with limited NFL experience, unless he can prove otherwise. Though there are some notable distinctions that have most “experts” believing the Packers are headed for a disastrous 2023, the situation is similar to what Rodgers faced when he succeeded Favre in 2008.
Colin Cowherd declared this week, “I have never sold my stock on a football team in an OTA faster than I’m selling Green Bay’s now.” “After looking at the Packers schedule, I calculated six wins. Kind of irrelevant, but I think we’re going to talk about the Packers in the 1980s.
“They don’t have a great quarterback, it’s increasingly a quarterback league. This is not the time to be a dominant team if you had a great running back and a strong defense ten or fifteen years ago. Those times are gone. I checked their schedule this morning and decided to watch the Green Bay Packers at 6-11.
What does this mean for Vikings fans?

First of all, it’s encouraging that the national media is beginning to report on what Minnesotans and Vikings supporters saw happen during the previous season. Recall how the Vikings crushed the Packers in Week 1 and went on to start the season 8-1, only to find themselves consistently behind the 3-6 Packers in the weekly power rankings?
Last season was when Green Bay’s decline really started. Love faces a daunting task if he hopes to maintain Green Bay’s status as a serious contender for the next thirty years, barring a miraculous recovery. All he has is a different foundation.
Rodgers was passing the ball to Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, and Donald Driver when he took over in 2008. Love will be the one tossing the ball to Romeo Dobbs and Christian Watson, who will both be starting their second NFL season. I wish you luck on that.
All of this feeds into and confirms Cowherd’s theory that Green Bay is returning to the pre-Favre level of insignificance.
How are fans adjusting to the possibility that this is true? The majority don’t think Cowherd will change his mind, as talking heads frequently do, so they’re not prepared to go that far. However, a sizable portion of Packers supporters believe Cowherd was misguided in his forecast.
Rodgers came in at No. 7 behind Lamar Jackson, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Patrick Mahomes in Cowherd’s most recent ranking of AFC quarterbacks.
