Just In: Another exciting news rock the walls of the Miami Dolphins as Mike McDaniel has joyfully announced yet another….
According to a league source, the Dolphins re-signed wide receiver and starting returner Braxton Berrios on Saturday to a one-year contract, as was predicted. According to his representatives Robert Bailey and Drew
Rosenhaus, the transaction might be valued up to $3 million. Berrios played 44 percent of the Dolphins’ offensive snaps last season and caught 27 receptions (in 33 targets) for 238 yards and a score. However, during the latter three
months of the season, his contribution to the passing game decreased. In the first four weeks of the season, Berrios had 16 targets; the rest of the way, he had just 17. 13th in the NFL, he returned 23 punts for 235 yards (a 10.2 average). Additionally, he averaged 24.5 yards returning 18 kickoffs for 441 yards. After four seasons with the Jets,
28-year-old Berrios joined the Dolphins in the previous season. The veteran receivers under contract are Berrios, Erik Ezukanma, a third-year player, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle, the starters. Robbie Chosen, who caught four
passes for 126 yards and a touchdown for Miami the previous season, is still a free agent. However, he visited the team’s offices on Friday. River Cracraft and Chase Claypool are still unsigned free agents. On Friday, Cedrick Wilson
Jr. accepted a contract offer from the New Orleans Saints. It’s expected that Miami will add two more experienced receivers, either Cracraft or Chosen. Note that new tight end Jonnu Smith, who caught 50 of 70 targets for 582 yards
as a member of the Atlanta Falcons last season, is expected to acquire some of the targets that went to backup wide receivers last season.
