Paige Bueckers Ruled Out for Wings’ Rematch Against Liberty..

Dallas Wings rookie star Paige Bueckers will miss Friday night’s game against the New York Liberty due to a back injury, the team announced. The injury occurred during Tuesday’s 85-76 loss to the Liberty, when Bueckers briefly left the game in the third quarter after feeling tightness while dribbling. Despite returning to finish with 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, the No. 1 overall draft pick was listed as questionable after missing Thursday’s practice. The Wings’ final injury report confirmed her absence for the rematch at College Park Center.

Bueckers, the frontrunner for WNBA Rookie of the Year, has been a bright spot for the struggling Wings (8-22), averaging 18.6 points, 5.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. This marks her seventh missed game this season, following earlier absences due to a concussion, illness, and rest. With the Wings’ playoff hopes fading, the team is prioritizing Bueckers’ long-term health. Myisha Hines-Allen (ankle) is probable, while Tyasha Harris (knee) remains out. The Liberty (19-10), also without Breanna Stewart, face Dallas in their third matchup in two weeks. Tip-off is 6:30 p.m. CT.[
