Between seven and 10 players have been suspended…

The catastrophic injury struck the 27-year-old on the eve of the current Premier League season, and it is anticipated that he would miss up to eight months of time due to his recovery.

As fans, we have benefited from the Argentine ace’s social media updates throughout his recuperation process thus far, as he is demonstrated the effort and progress he is made step by step to enable us to provide our support.

Additionally, he has been seen celebrating with his teammates following games at Villa Park on a regular basis. Thus far, all the signs point to him progressing according to plan and hopefully making a comeback before the end of the current campaign.

As can be seen in the video below, which was obtained from Emiliano Martinez’s Instagram account, Buendia is making progress in his use of virtual reality as a rehabilitation tool, even though it appears to be a relatively new technique.

This is another crucial sign that he is on track and is gradually making a comeback, even though it is clear he is not back in the gym working out on his own and that he is still a ways off from getting back on the grass and participating in a group session with the rest of the team.

It is unclear if there will be enough time in the current campaign for Buendia to make an impact. Naturally, Emery wants him to play for the U21s in order to regain his match fitness and sharpness before reintegrating into the senior team.

In light of Emery’s initial six-to eight-month recuperation plan, which he shared with BBC Sport, Buendia may be able to return to action in March, provided he escapes any obstacles in his path.

If we are still pushing in the Premier League and the Europa Conference League in particular, it would be encouraging to see him back on the field. Towards the end of our campaign, that kind of boost might serve as motivation for the players to go through and accomplish our goals.
