Unfortunately, the head coach of the Newcastle United decided to terminate his contract due to…

Elche CF is reportedly going to terminate Federico Fernandez’s contract, just three months after he joined Newcastle United.

Due to injuries, the Argentine defender last appeared for the Magpies in December of last year. On the day of the summer transfer window, he relocated to Spain.

Fernandez has only made one appearance for the La Liga team, which is at the bottom of the standings, suggesting that the 33-year-old has found it difficult to move past those issues.

Estadio Deportivo reports that Elche has notified Fernandez that the Spanish team “does not want to continue with his services” because of his “physical problems,” and as a result, they are negotiating a contract termination that will end six months early.

After joining the Magpies in 2018, Fernandez made 89 appearances for Swansea City. Even though the center-back saw little action in his last season, head coach Eddie Howe had nothing but respect for the seasoned player.

“Fede, what a fantastic guy and amazing professional! Howe said, “I have nothing but the best things to say about him and his many years of service to the football club.

“Unfortunately, he sustained a few injuries, which limited our time with him on the field. However, he has been amazing for us off the field, and we send him our best wishes.”
