Forward Blake Griffin is pondering his future in the NBA after 15 seasons, the last one perhaps being with the Boston Celtics. No. 91 has appeared in 41 games during his one and only season in Boston, averaging 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. Despite playing little on the floor, the six-time NBA All-Star and previous Slam Dunk contest champion was well-liked by C’s teammates and supporters.
Boston would “probably welcome a return by veteran big man Blake Griffin, who played well last year, and was a strong locker room presence,” according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, given the Celtics’ dearth of frontcourt players. But as Griffin mulls over his options this summer, Himmelsbach says that a reunion is “unlikely.”
