Tottenham Hotspur player breaking silence about…

After joining Genoa on loan from Tottenham, a Tottenham Hotspur player who had been silent regarding full-back Djed Spence said that he expects to have a “long journey” with the Italian team.

Spence was loaned to Leeds United in the Championship for the first half of the season; however, that ended when the January transfer window opened. After returning to Tottenham, the 23-year-old quickly left the club again, joining Genoa on loan as part of the trade that allowed Radu Dragusin to join Spurs in January.

Spence is reportedly not included in Ange Postecoglou’s plans for Tottenham, and the agreement contains a buyout option at the conclusion of the year. Leeds was offering more money when Genoa expressed interest in moving six months prior.

For the first time, Spence has now discussed his move to Italy and made the suggestion that he plans to stay with the Italian team in the long run.

“I was aware that last summer, they had already begun searching for me. It was clear that the requirements were now met to end the operation. I’m happy. “This is a significant chance,” he stated to Gazzetta dello Sport (via SportWitness). “I’m hoping that this marks the start of a lengthy journey for this expanding club.

“I discovered a pleasant city and a nice staff. I got used to it shortly. They helped me out with everything. The changing room crew has all been helpful. This place has a pleasant feel. I’m going to start studying Italian soon. Right now, I would rather focus on football.

The defender made an impression in the Championship with Nottingham Forest before signing a £15 million agreement to join Tottenham from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2022. Under former Spurs manager Antonio Conte, he had difficulty getting into the starting lineup and only made six appearances.

He was on loan to French team Rennes for the second part of the previous campaign. Spence has participated in three Serie A games since moving to Genoa, winning two and drawing one.
