Breakings: right now Kansas city chiefs are making arrangement to sack Andy Reid and two players.

Henderson, Nevada Despite leaving the Kansas City Chiefs as offensive coordinator a year ago, Eric Bieniemy had an influence on the team’s journey to the Super Bowl this year.

Before the Chiefs’ AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens, Bieniemy visited the team. He conversed with several offensive players, including Patrick Mahomes, and attended meetings.

“Having EB in the building is always a pleasure, both for his presence and the energy and mindset he brings,” Mahomes remarked. “He enjoys being there. He enjoys being a member of that culture and the squad. It was great to see him back in the building and to hear his enthusiastic speech. Guys may have felt a slight goosebumps, thinking, “Hey, we got EB’s back here.”

Though he obviously lost out on the chance to be head coach, I’m thrilled that he will still coach football and continue to have an impact on the sport.

During his five seasons as the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator, Bieniemy led the team to two Super Bowl victories in three trips. In an attempt to increase his appeal as a head-coaching prospect, he left last year to take the same role with the Washington Commanders.

He called offensive plays in Washington, getting away from Chiefs coach Andy Reid’s intimidating shadow.

But after just one season in Washington, Bieniemy is out. Josh Harris, the new owner of the Commanders, fired head coach Ron Rivera on January 8 and hired Dan Quinn to take over earlier this month.

“I believe Bieniemy has a bright future as a coach,” Reid stated. “I’m clearly a huge fan of his and am aware of his abilities.”

With the words “I have no spot right now,” Reid gave little indication that Bieniemy would be joining the Chiefs in any form going forward.
