Matt Beard has currently signed a big contracts that all fans are impressed with.

The 45-year-old led Liverpool to consecutive Women’s Super League championships in 2013 and 2014, and he was reappointed in 2021.

After six years away from the team, he led them to promotion to the WSL in his first season back. During that period, the team was relegated.

“It was an easy decision for me to extend my stay here,” he stated.

“I believe we’re just getting started on a really significant project, and you have a bright future ahead of you.

“I’m excited for the future of the team because I think we’ve got a good group here, a good young group as well, that can grow.”

Following his 2015 departure from Liverpool to join the Boston Breakers in the US, Beard managed West Ham before taking a temporary position at Bristol City in 2020, but he was unable to keep the team from being demoted to the Championship.

The WSL gets underway on October 1 with Liverpool playing Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, followed by their first home game against Aston Villa and their Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield on October 15.

In order to provide a training facility for the women’s team, Liverpool purchased Melwood, their former training ground, earlier this year. Beard’s squad relocated from their Tranmere Rovers headquarters to the new location in September.

“Melwood is a massive step in the right direction for us,” Beard stated.

To be very honest, it’s revolutionary. The fact that we have the facility we do indicates that we are able to provide for the players and fulfill our desires.”

Liverpool managed to avoid a relegation battle in their first season back, finishing eighth last year.

Beard stated, “We’re excited about this season.” “We want to do better than we did the previous year; ideally, we’d like to place among the top five. We also want to compete in every competition.”

“It’d be great if we could bring some silverware next year.”
