The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced that their former head coach is back.
More than ten years ago, when he was still managing the Colorado Rockies, Clint Hurdle started delivering his inspirational notes every day. They were a tiny, easy method for him to stay in touch with his team, exchange ideas for leadership, and provide assistance.
In the middle of a worldwide pandemic, Hurdle never intended to be a significant voice to friends and acquaintances near and far. However, what were once casual group texts have evolved into much more: 5,000 enthusiastic receivers receive his Daily Encouragement emails every morning.
The messages differ, but they are consistently positive.
“The time is now to live more strategically and courageously while engaging in work that is filled with impact and meaning,” the website The Daily Coach may have said. He might quote them. He could give a list of his goals for the coming week, such as “Offer loving-kindness to my inner critic.”

Alternatively, he may inform his subscribers that there won’t be an email on Sunday. “Give a loved one a call.”
Sports celebrities and blue-collar laborers are among his audience members.
A few relationships that I didn’t have previously have grown. I’ve had the opportunity to meet folks from a variety of backgrounds,” Hurdle remarked last week on the phone.
The idea started to take shape early in the 2009 campaign. He was let go in late May, two years after leading the Rockies to the World Series.
